Moe Seddik – council candidate Ward 3

Why should constituents consider voting for you?

I have been a resident of Belle River for seven years and during this time I have not seen much growth considering the population and needs of this community. We are no longer a small community and yet the amenities do not represent this. If you as a resident of Belle River would like to see the growth that we all need, then please vote for me as I want to work with the constituents to help meet realize these needs.

Top three concerns across the municipality:

Providing the needs and amenities required for a growing community from restaurants to grocery stores.  We should have access to these basic daily needs without having to pay a premium to attain them.

Providing the youth of the Belle River community that are easily accessible without challenges.  As a father of two young boys, anytime I have attempted to sign up my children for activities at the Atlas Tube Centre it’s a constant challenge and usually ends unsuccessfully. And it should be done without having to increase taxes.  I’m looking at taking a fiscally responsible approach at developing the community.

The infrastructure of Belle River needs to be revisited. There is a lack of stop signs and streetlights at main intersections – such as Oakwood. Also, the traffic lights at 22 and Rourke and other major intersections, as well as the Highway 22 development is not being properly implemented and needs to be re-organized.

Tell us briefly about yourself.

I am 44 years old, and I have been married for 11 years.  My wife and I have two young boys, aged 9 and 7.  As previously mentioned, I have been a resident of Belle River for the past seven years, and lived in Windsor before that.  I have an extensive background in the automotive industry and worked for the Rafih Automotive Group for 15 years.  Five years ago, I became the Area Sales Manager for PartSource.

My wife and I moved to Belle River because we wanted to raise our family in a quiet and safe environment, and I found that in Belle River. But, it is time to see the growth the constituents of this not so small-town need and are waiting for.
