Lakeshore launches survey for future of Stoney Point Community Park

Community visioning session to follow this Spring

The Municipality of Lakeshore is kicking off its call for community members to help create a vision for the future of Stoney Point Community Park.

Residents, park users, and community organizations are invited to participate in an online survey, which can be found at Lakeshore.ca/SPPark

The survey is the first step in a multi-phase visioning process which will include several opportunities for community input and feedback.

“As a Council, we know how important this park is to the residents of Stoney Point,” said Lakeshore mayor Tom Bain. “To create a vision means to build from the ground up. We want to understand how it’s used today, what works, and what improvements are needed to make sure the park reflects the desires of the community now and into the future.”

Survey respondents will be asked several open-ended questions about their current usage of the park, what amenities and improvements are needed, as well as ideas about a park “theme.”

The last portion of the survey asks respondents to reflect on what services they would like to be considered for a potential community hub facility.

Responses to the survey as well as a summary of community feedback will be shared during an upcoming Community Visioning Session, with date and location to be announced. The information will also contribute to the design of a Park Concept Plan.
