The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit is offering an immunization clinic at the Atlas Tube Recreation Centre over the next two weeks, April 19-22 and April 25-29, for eligible students to receive their vaccine series for Hepatitis B, Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and Meningococcal disease.
As per The Immunization of School Pupils Act, the Meningococcal vaccine is a required vaccine to attend school in Ontario.
Students born in 2004-2009 can now book an appointment at wechu.org/getimmunized or by calling 519-258-2146 x4500
The WECHU would like to remind parent(s)/guardian(s) that these vaccines will continue to be available through their local health care provider for eligible individuals at no cost.
If students have already received their missing immunizations, parent(s)/guardian(s) should submit this information to the WECHU. Updated immunization information can be reported securely online at immune.wechu.org or by calling 519-258-2146, ext. 1222.
If parent(s)/guardian(s) are not sure whether their child is up to date on their immunizations, they can e-mail the WECHU Healthy Schools department or call 519-258-2146, ext. 1222.
