St. Mary’s Parish is the oldest parish in Windsor and Essex County that is not located near a shoreline.
The Parish was established by Irish immigrants who fled the Great Famine.
Au Gorta Mor, The Great Hunger, also celebrates 175 years.
To this day, direct descendants still live and attend St. Mary’s Parish.
The public is invited to attend a celebration on Sun. June 5 at 12:30 p.m.
There will be a 1 p.m. mass with Bishop Ronald Fabbro,
and historical displays in the Parish Hall and time capsule
Baseball game and BBQ to follow at St. Mary’s Park.
