Town to move ahead with Matchett-Sprucewood improvements

The Town of LaSalle will spend $1,450,000 on road improvements to the Matchett Road and Sprucewood Avenue intersection.

Improvements would include a new signal and protected left turn lanes on Matchett along with sidewalk improvements.

A four way stop currently controls the busy intersection on the border of the City of Windsor and the Town of LaSalle.

The project, will require widening the road and adding sidewalks.

The work is considered temporary as there is an agreement in place with the developer of the raceway lands to improve the intersection if the property is developed.

The project will also include the addition of turning lanes on Matchett Road at Morton Drive.

The funds will come from the town’s roads reserve.

Completion of the construction is expected to be done by summer 2025.
