The LaSalle Firefighters Associations have announced a new holiday initiative, the “LaSalle Gives Back” fundraiser, aimed at ensuring donations collected in LaSalle remain within the local community. The campaign will run from Nov. 14 to Nov. 16, with LaSalle Firefighters and volunteers taking to the streets to distribute information and accept monetary donations.

In past years, the LaSalle Firefighters participated in the Windsor Goodfellows Holiday Christmas Food Boxes campaign, collecting donations throughout the Town. While some donations supported residents, most were directed toward Windsor communities.

This year, however, LaSalle Firefighters have launched the ‘LaSalle Gives Back’ fundraiser campaign to keep donations within LaSalle. From November 14-16, 2024, firefighters and community volunteers will canvas the streets, distribute newsletters, and accept monetary donations from LaSalle residents.

The fundraiser focuses on supporting LaSalle residents in need—not only during the holiday season but year-round.

“The campaign name reflects the idea that contributing to this fundraiser is a direct way for the residents of LaSalle to give back to the LaSalle community,” says Craig Lussier of the LaSalle Professional Firefighters Association.

Proceeds from the ‘LaSalle Gives Back’ campaign will benefit local non-profits and youth organizations, ensuring that funds directly reach those within LaSalle who rely on assistance programs. This year, donations will go to St. Andrews Anglican Church – Community Food Bank and LaSalle Hangout for Youth.

The LaSalle Gives Back campaign is set to become an annual event, reinforcing the community’s commitment to caring for its own.
