Vulnerable Persons Registry available in LaSalle

The LaSalle Police Service is reminding residents that a Vulnerable Persons Registry (VPR) is available to help emergency services assist vulnerable individuals during a crisis.

The registry allows caregivers of vulnerable persons living in LaSalle to submit key information — such as a name, physical description, photo, medical conditions, and emergency contact details — to be used by police and first responders in an emergency.

Vulnerable persons are defined as individuals who, due to a medical, mental health, cognitive, or physical condition, may display behaviours that put them at risk, including wandering, inability to communicate, or fear of strangers.

Police say having this information readily accessible can help ensure a faster, more effective response when vulnerable individuals go missing or are found in distress.

Registration can be completed online at www.lasalle.ca.
