Senior girls soccer The senior girls soccer team had a standout season, falling just short in the WECSSAA finals. It was the team’s best performance since 2014 — an impressive achievement. Coach Williams said, “A special acknowledgment to our captain, Nicolina Dimovski, whose leadership on and off the pitch has been truly inspiring. Your dedication has left a lasting impact on the team and coaches.” Dimovski, Lola Bouma and Avery Alexander were named to the first team all-city.
Junior girls soccer The junior girls soccer team showed heart, hustle and grit, advancing to the semi-finals. Every player contributed to the team’s success, proving the Nobles can rise to any challenge.
Junior boys soccer The junior boys soccer team worked hard all season, despite not getting the results they hoped for. Coaches are optimistic about the players’ development in the coming years.
Girls softball The girls softball team saved their best for last in a May 16 game against L’Essor Secondary School. The highlight came from Nikolina Rosic, who made a diving catch that turned into a triple play. Best wishes to graduating players Ruby Klimkowski, Laurel Mitchell, Nicolina Dimovski and Riri Ito.
Boys baseball The boys baseball team ended their season with a tough quarter-final loss on May 20 to Riverside Secondary School. Despite cold winds and freezing temperatures, the team gave it their all. Congratulations to graduating athletes: Cale Morris, Jackson Lewsaw, Gavin Lynch, Kelton Mayea-Montague, Craig Querbach, Tyler Stephenson, Ethan St. John and Riley Drummond.
Track and field The Nobles track and field team was small but mighty. Ten athletes qualified for OFSAA West Regionals, with four advancing to OFSAA. Brayden Labonte broke the SWOSSAA record in the senior boys 400-metre hurdles, previously set in 2003. At OFSAA, he ran a personal best of 51.79 seconds, making him the third-fastest Canadian high schooler to run the event. Marissa Madia placed third in both the senior girls 100m and 200m at SWOSSAA, ending her season at OFSAA with the 16th-fastest 100m time in Ontario. Coach St. Pierre praised Norah Myers for her improvement in the 100m and 200m, noting her off-season dedication and personal bests. Myers earned multiple first- and second-place medals in the junior girls division. Field throwers Brydon Mitchell, Markcos Newman and Boden Hlady had strong seasons. Hlady placed third in novice boys shot put at SWOSSAA and advanced to OFSAA West Regionals. Mitchell and Newman moved on to OFSAA with second- and third-place finishes in senior boys shot put. Mitchell threw a personal best of 15.93 metres, finishing sixth; Newman placed 15th. Isabella Madia finished third in senior girls long jump at SWOSSAA. School records were broken this year by Marissa Madia, Brayden Labonte and Peyton Tulk.
Athletic banquet The annual BRDHS Athletic Banquet celebrated athletes from the 2024–25 school year. Junior student athletes of the year: Kimrat Atwal and Alexander Bially Senior student athletes of the year: Nicolina Dimovski and Austin Wills Junior athletes of the year: Ava Roznawski, Nash Reymond and Zachary Sulik Senior athletes of the year: Ruby Klimkowski and Markcos Newman Congratulations to all athletes who competed this year — award or not.
The Nobles had a strong year, with deep playoff runs and standout performances. Regardless of results, the teams showed hustle and heart. Thanks to all coaches for their dedication, and best wishes to graduating athletes. The future of Noble athletics looks bright.
