Marion Phaneuf, an administrator at St. William Catholic Elementary School in Emeryville, has retired after many years of dedicated service with the school board. Throughout her career, she worked at several schools across the region, but said St. William has always held a special place in her heart, thanks to its welcoming atmosphere and strong sense of community.

When asked about her favourite memories, she replied, “The kids, the parents and the administration have always been awesome. Everyday there is something new here and I will miss that,” she laughed.

Phaneuf was known for her warm presence, steady leadership and unwavering commitment to student success. Whether helping families navigate school life or supporting staff behind the scenes, she brought compassion and professionalism to every task. Her approachable nature and genuine care for others made her a beloved figure in the school’s daily rhythm.

Her retirement marks the end of an era at St. William, where she was a familiar and trusted face in the hallways and front office. Colleagues describe her as someone who always had time for a kind word or a helping hand, and her absence will be felt by many.

While she looks forward to a new chapter, Phaneuf plans to stay active by working part time as a travel agent — a role that will allow her to explore new places and connect with others in a different way. Her love of travel and adventure will no doubt bring the same energy and enthusiasm she shared with the school community.

Staff, students and families at St. William extend their heartfelt thanks to Phaneuf for her years of care, dedication and leadership. Her legacy will live on in the lives she touched and the memories she helped create.
