The LaSalle Community Fund Association, formed in 2021, is a group of local individuals who saw the need to assist and partner with LaSalle organizations — providing the community with funding support for a variety of worthwhile projects now and into the future.
One of the goals of the LaSalle Community Fund (LCF) is to establish a dedicated LaSalle Community Scholarship Fund for students from LaSalle graduating from Sandwich Secondary School, St. Thomas of Villanova Secondary School, or any other high school in Windsor-Essex County, who are pursuing post-secondary education at a Canadian institution.
To make this fund a reality, the association is seeking donations. As with its previous project, all contributions will be held and managed by the WindsorEssex Community Foundation (WECF). Importantly, 100 per cent of donations to the LaSalle Community Scholarship Fund will support LaSalle students.
Three students from the two LaSalle-area high schools have been selected for 2025. These $500 scholarships will not only provide meaningful financial support to LaSalle students and their families, but also help promote local high schools, boost enrolment and support jobs in the community.
“We are proud to support these students who have demonstrated a passion for making a positive impact in our LaSalle community. We look forward to witnessing how these leaders will continue to inspire. These students were truly honoured to have been selected as recipients for the 2025 LCF scholarships,” said Gisele Meloche, an LCF associate who served on the scholarship selection team alongside Don Harris and Melisse Reaume.
Making a tax-deductible donation now will ensure funds are available for 2026 and beyond — and is a meaningful opportunity to invest in LaSalle’s future. To donate to the LCF Scholarship Fund, visit lasallecommunityfund.ca.
