Belle River Public School held two moving Remembrance Day assemblies this week. Primary students attended a shorter ceremony designed for younger learners, while junior and intermediate classes participated in a more in-depth assembly featuring a powerful Readers’ Theatre presentation.
Both assemblies concluded with a beautiful dance performance set to “I Will Remember You” by Sarah McLachlan. The dance was choreographed by the school’s dance team instructor Mrs. Stammler, whose creativity brought the music and message to life. The entire program was arranged and directed by Mrs. Swaddling, with support from Mrs. Demaris, helping create a cohesive and meaningful experience for all students. The ceremony was made even more memorable by Grade 8 student Marshall Salmons, who delivered a heartfelt and stirring performance on the bagpipes.
The gym was decorated with Remembrance Day art created by students from JK to Grade 8, adding a heartfelt and personal touch to the assemblies.
A special thank-you goes to the Kingsville Military Museum for generously loaning military uniforms and supporting the school with historical artifacts that brought Canada’s military history to life for students. Their contributions added depth, authenticity, and meaningful learning to the ceremonies.
Belle River Public School is proud of its students for their respect, leadership, and thoughtful participation in honouring Canada’s veterans.
