The LaSalle Firefighters Association is celebrating the continued success of its LaSalle Gives Back initiative for a second consecutive year, marking another milestone in the program’s mission to support the local community during the holiday season and beyond.

Launched in 2024, the LaSalle Gives Back campaign is designed to provide vital assistance to local non-profits and youth programs, ensuring that donations collected in LaSalle stay within the community to benefit residents in need. In 2025, the campaign raised a remarkable total of $72,834.39, a figure that demonstrates both the generosity of local residents and the dedication of volunteers who help organize and run the program.

On December 8, representatives from the LaSalle Firefighters Association presented a cheque for $67,834.39 to St. Andrews Anglican Church – Community Food Bank, supporting the organization’s ongoing efforts to provide food and essential services to families throughout LaSalle. In addition, $5,000 was donated to the LaSalle Hangout for Youth, providing critical resources and programs for young people in the community.

“We’re truly humbled by the incredible generosity and support from our community,” said Chris Carr of the LaSalle Firefighters’ Association. “Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and supported this fundraiser—your kindness is what makes a real difference to support these two incredible organizations. Together, we’ve shown what community truly means.”

The campaign’s efforts began in earnest from November 13 to 15, 2025, when LaSalle Firefighters and community volunteers distributed newsletters throughout the town and collected donations from residents. This hands-on approach ensures that community members are engaged directly in the program, and it reinforces the goal of keeping the funds raised within LaSalle to benefit local programs and residents.

For the second year running, LaSalle Gives Back has successfully met its mission of supporting the town’s most vulnerable populations, providing not only assistance during the holiday season but also creating a foundation for ongoing support throughout the year. The campaign’s success reflects both the dedication of the firefighters who spearhead the initiative and the compassion of LaSalle residents who continue to contribute, demonstrating the strength of community spirit and the impact of collective effort.
