The Lambton Kent District School Board is launching the ‘Count Me In Student Census’ during the month of March.
The project is designed to collect information to better understand its students and school communities.
The voluntary and confidential survey will collect demographic information about students such as race, ethnicity, language, religion, gender identity and sexual orientation.
Census questionnaires for students in Kindergarten to Gr. 8 will be sent to parents/guardians to complete with or on behalf of their child.
Students in Gr. 9 through 12 will be provided the link to the census directly and will be provided with classroom time to complete.
The census is directed and supported by the Ontario Ministry of Education.
Results will identify systemic barriers and bias within the education system.
The results will help LKDSB make informed decisions about programming to support student success and allocate resources to where they are needed most.
“We are committed to removing barriers to education,” said Director of Education, John Howitt.
“The census will provide us with additional information to better understand individual student needs and our school communities at large, as well as identify and address discrimination and systemic barriers while improving outcomes for all students.”
Results of the census will be reported to the community this Fall – and action steps will be developed.

El equilibrado representa una fase clave en el mantenimiento de maquinaria agricola, asi como en la fabricacion de ejes, volantes, rotores y armaduras de motores electricos. Un desequilibrio provoca vibraciones que incrementan el desgaste de los rodamientos, provocan sobrecalentamiento e incluso llegan a causar la rotura de componentes. Con el fin de prevenir fallos mecanicos, es fundamental detectar y corregir el desequilibrio a tiempo utilizando metodos modernos de diagnostico.
Principales metodos de equilibrado
Hay diferentes tecnicas para corregir el desequilibrio, dependiendo del tipo de pieza y la intensidad de las vibraciones:
Equilibrado dinamico – Se aplica en elementos rotativos (rotores, ejes) y se realiza en maquinas equilibradoras especializadas.
El equilibrado estatico – Se emplea en volantes, ruedas y piezas similares donde es suficiente compensar el peso en un unico plano.
Correccion del desequilibrio – Se realiza mediante:
Taladrado (eliminacion de material en la zona mas pesada),
Colocacion de contrapesos (en ruedas y aros de volantes),
Ajuste de masas de equilibrado (por ejemplo, en ciguenales).
Diagnostico del desequilibrio: ?que equipos se utilizan?
Para identificar con precision las vibraciones y el desequilibrio, se utilizan:
Maquinas equilibradoras – Permiten medir el nivel de vibracion y definen con precision los puntos de correccion.
Equipos analizadores de vibraciones – Registran el espectro de oscilaciones, identificando no solo el desequilibrio, sino tambien fallos adicionales (como el desgaste de rodamientos).
Sistemas laser – Se emplean para mediciones de alta precision en componentes criticos.
Especial atencion merecen las velocidades criticas de rotacion – regimenes en los que la vibracion aumenta drasticamente debido a fenomenos de resonancia. Un equilibrado adecuado evita danos en el equipo bajo estas condiciones.
