Update on ‘The Roadmap to Reopening’ Ontario

Effective Tuesday March 1st, COVID-19 passport verification is no longer mandatory under the Provincial Roadmap to Reopening. Businesses can still request proof of vaccination, based on their individual preference and policies.

To note, as of March 1st measures include:

– Capacity limits lifted in all indoor public settings

– Proof of vaccination requirements lifted, with businesses being allowed to implement them voluntarily

– Other protective measures, such as mask/face covering requirements and active/passive screening of patrons, will be in place

– Public health units can deploy local and regional responses based on local health indicators 

In addition, effective Mon., February 28, the federal government lifted restrictions on travel including PCR testing is no longer required when entering Canada for fully vaccinated travelers who now will have the option of taking a rapid antigen test in place of the often more expensive and slower PCR test.
