Mandate changes coming to Lakeshore municipal facilities

As the pandemic situation continues to improve in the Province of Ontario, visitors to the Municipality of Lakeshore will notice some changes.

With the changes to province-wide health mandates, visitors to Lakeshore municipal facilities are no longer required to wear masks, but are encouraged to do so.

 Visitors will still undergo passive screening prior to entering a facility. Individuals who are experiencing symptoms or have been recently exposed to COVID-19 should refrain from visiting public places.

For guidance on what to do if you’re experiencing symptoms or have been exposed to COVID-19, please complete Ontario’s Self-Assessment Tool.

 

“Many of our community members will welcome the steps we’re taking to get back to normal,” said lakeshore mayor Tom Bain. “However, many individuals will continue to make decisions based on their own personal or family risk factors. We ask that everyone, masked or unmasked, respect the decisions of others. We got to where we are today by working together, and that has not changed.”

To ensure the health and safety of employees, protective screens continue to be in place at Lakeshore facilities and municipal staff will continue to wear masks.

Lakeshore’s Building Services Division in Town Hall will re-open for in-person visits starting Monday, March 28. All potential visitors should call ahead for information about alternative service options and to ensure staff and space availability.
