Canadiens defeat 73s 4-2 to even Hobbs Division final series

By Lakeshore News Reporter Staff

Trevor Larue scored twice, including the game-winner, as the Lakeshore Canadiens defeated the Essex 73s 4-2, to draw even their Provincial Junior Hockey League Stobbs Division final series on Tuesday night at 2-2.

The game was played before 930 fans at the Essex Centre Complex.

Eric Larue and Dylan Weston also scored for Lakeshore while Tycen Chittle scored both goals for Essex.

Trevor Heslop made 25 saves to pick up the win in net for the Canadiens (2-2), while Jakub Knowles made 26 saves for the 73s (2-2).

Home ice has been anything but an advantage so far in the series between the long-time rivals, as the visiting team has won every game so far in the best-of-seven series.

Game Five goes Thursday night at the Atlas Tube Centre in Lakeshore before the series returns to Essex for game six on Saturday, April 16. If a seventh game is needed it will be played at the Atlas Tube Centre on Easter Sunday. Opening face-off for all games is 7 pm.
