
In conjunction with Golf Canada the folks at Essex Golf and Country Club in LaSalle are hosting the Canadian All Abilities Championship, on September 12 through the 14th.
“This event, in its second year at the course, will be a wonderful opportunity for Essex to engage our membership and community, leaving a positive and lasting experience,” said Corey Ladouceur, general manager of the club.
“We will be able to showcase our course, facility and membership to a national audience, as well as contributing to the development of our elite amateurs and the next generation of heroes in Canadian golf.”
The national golf championship will be contested as a 36-hole competition and will feature up to 84 players from across Canada with neurological, intellectual, sensory, and physical impairments.
There are four different divisions in the Canadian All Abilities Championship that players will compete in, regardless of disability classification: Women’s Gross Stroke Play; Women’s Net Stableford; Men’s Gross Stroke Play; and Men’s Net Stableford.
The public is invited to attend this event:
September 12th
8 a.m. until 12 p.m. practice round for competitors
September 13th
8 a.m. tee times for competition
September 14th
8 a.m. for tee times with the awards ceremony taking place at approximately 2-3 p.m.

Golf Canada has worked with several partner organizations on the Canadian All Abilities Championship including Special Olympics Canada, Blind Golf Canada, Canadian Amputee Golf Association, Emeritus Golf, The R&A, EDGA, and others to ensure an inclusive and fair competition is provided to the athletes.
