Lakeshore mayor Tom Bain and members of Council gathered with representatives from Conseil scolaire catholique Providence, L’Association des Communautés Francophones de l’Ontario Windsor Essex Chatham-Kent, students and staff from École Pavillon des Jeunes, as well as members of Lakeshore’s Francophone community to raise the flag in honour of Franco-Ontarian Day.
This day, officially celebrated on September 25, recognizes the contributions of Ontario’s Francophone community and its impact on the province’s history, culture, and people.
“Le Conseil de la Municipalité de Lakeshore render homage aux francophone de notre communauté, et nous somme fiére d’arborer le drapeau et de célébrer sur cette date importante dan l’histoire de notre province,” said mayor Bain.
“Council for the Municipality of Lakeshore pays tribute to the Francophones in our community, and we are proud to fly the flag and celebrate on this important date of our province’s history.”
