Municipality of Lakeshore offices will be closed on Friday, September 30 in recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The Atlas Tube Recreation Centre will be open for regular hours.
Local Events:
- Join the Southwest Ontario Aboriginal Health Access Centrefor their Every Child Matters Walk in Windsor.
- Join the Caldwell First Nationfor their Orange Shirt Day event. Event kicks off at 9:30 AM at the Caldwell Community Hall (14 Orange Street, Leamington), followed by lunch, drumming, crafts and sharing at Point Pelee National Park (Northwest Beach) from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
- Join the Town of Amherstburgand the Ska:na Family Learning Centre for their two-day National Day of Truth and Reconciliation event! 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, September 30 and 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, September 31.
- The University of Windsorwill host an Orange Shirt Day Drum Social Teach-In from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the David Wilson Commons.
- TheCity of Windsor will host a community gathering at the Ojibway Prairie Complex from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The event includes songs, drumming, and stories with Theresa Sims, colouring book activities, snake talk and guided nature tour, poetry readings and food.

- Read the reports issued by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, including the 94 Calls to Action and the history of Canada’s residential schools.
- Visit the Government of Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation page.

- Watch two days of APTNtv programmingstarting with the feature film “We Were Children” on September 29 at 7:00 PM.
