CUPE 4299 and Csc Providence reach tentative agreement

The Conseil scolaire catholique Providence is has announced that a tentative agreement has been reached with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Local 4299, representing approximately 800 administrative and support staff.

The agreement represents the commitment of both parties to ensure the quality of services provided to students attending the Conseil scolaire catholique Providence schools. The terms of the agreement will be made public following ratification by both parties, who have agreed to complete the ratification process by January 29, 2023. Once ratified, the agreement will be in effect until August 31, 2026.

“This agreement is a reflection of the collaborative work of all parties and demonstrates our shared commitment to the success and well-being of students,” said Jacques Kenny, president of the Conseil scolaire catholique Providence.

Students have always been the priority of the Providence Catholic School Board. Maintaining good relations with staff members as well as respecting the budgetary framework of Csc Providence also served as benchmarks in the negotiation process.

“I would like to congratulate all parties involved for negotiating an agreement that meets everyone’s needs,” he adds. “We are very pleased with the outcome of these negotiations,” said Anthony Cutrone, President of CUPE 4299, “This agreement recognizes the critical importance of the work our members do and ensures services for the students of Providence. I want to thank our negotiating team for their hard work in reaching this tentative agreement. I would also like to thank our members for their support during this time.”

The Conseil scolaire catholique Providence serves an area of more than 28,819 km2 which stretches from Windsor to Woodstock and includes the Grey-Bruce and Huron-Perth regions.

The network of French language Catholic schools provides quality education to nearly 10,000 students in 24 elementary schools and eight secondary schools.
