The numbers are in, and the community has raised an incredible $425,000 for the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation’s Grow On Windsor campaign.

Each November, Grow On Windsor raises funds to reduce the need for our brothers, fathers, uncles, loved ones, and friends to travel down Highway 401 for treatment that they should be receiving right here.

This year’s efforts support the purchase of equipment and services to provide:

• Brachytherapy treatment for prostate cancer

• Advanced radiation treatment for brain tumours, lesions, & cancers on the skin

• Enhancement of seven cancer outpatient rooms

In 2021, men accounted for 46,750 visits to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre. The generous support from the community means more men living with cancer in our community can continue to receive cancer care right here at home.

Every dollar raised stays local to support the purchase of vital tools and equipment not otherwise funded by the province.

“Our theme this year was ‘We Grow On Together’, and the community definitely did come together in a powerful way to support men living with cancer. Your generosity makes a tremendous and immediate impact on our patients lives.” said Houida Kassem, executive director, Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation.

Grow On Windsor 2022 garnered thousands of supporters from the community. Organizations hosted events and promotions around Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent, with many local companies finding fun and creative ways to raise awareness and funds for local cancer patients.
