Lakeshore Lightning U15 B win Silver Stick tournament

Last weekend the Lakeshore Lightning U15 B team came from Sarnia with an extra stick – a shiny silver one. The team fought hard all weekend to win the 2023 Sarnia Silver Stick Tournament.

Beginning Friday morning, the team handled the Woolwich Wild, 5-2, getting the girls tournament off in the right direction. Their next game, against hometown rival, the Windsor Wildcats, was a back and forth affair ending in a 2-2 tie.

Sometimes we need to take a step back to take a leap forward and that was the case for the Bolts, as they lost their next game 4-1 to the Cleveland Lady Barons, which set up a semi-final rematch against the Windsor Wildcats. This time, the Bolts prevailed with a well-deserved 2-0 win, securing a spot in the finals.

Waiting for the Lightning was the Lady Barons – as they too secured a spot in the finals. Revenge is sweet as the saying goes, and our hometown Lightning won the game 2-1 on a double overtime goal by Marisol Goncalves.

Congratulations to our Sarnia Silver Stick Champions, the Lakeshore Lightning U 15 B Girls.
