Roman De Angelis, Belle River, native and University of Windsor student, added to his 2021 IMSA Sprint Cup Championship and his 2022 GT Daytona driver championship in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship this weekend, by winning the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. This is North America’s sports car racing’s pinnacle event that starts the IMSA season. Roman becomes only the second Canadian driver to win at the Rolex 24. He joins the 2001 winner sports car legend Ron Fellows (who is originally from Windsor, ON) on the winners list.

Roman and his teammates Marco Sorenson (DK), Ian James (GB) and Darren Turner (GB), drove a consistent race staying at the front of the field for the better part of the 24 hours, finishing ahead of 32 other competitors in the GTD Pro and GTD classes.
