E.L.K. and Entegrus Inc. are pleased to announce the signing of an agreement that will see Entegrus provide contracted management services to E.L.K.
The E.L.K. Board of Directors would like to extend its thanks to E.L.K.’s former CEO, Mike Audet, who recently retired after 30 plus years of service.
In light of this retirement, the Board decided to engage with a utility partner that brings a depth of knowledge, expertise and structure while it embarks on a thorough strategic review.
“The Board is committed to being responsive to community needs and finding a solution for the Town of Essex and the customers E.L.K. serves,” stated Essex mayor Sherry Bondy, chair of the E.L.K. Board of Directors. “Entegrus brings a vast level of experience and, together with E.L.K. employees, the contract promises to move E.L.K. in a positive direction through improved levels of customer service and asset management.”

“The combined expertise and dedication of both the E.L.K. and Entegrus employees will ensure customers and communities benefit from increased resources, knowledge and industry experience,” added Hogan.
The Entegrus Group directly operates and maintains electricity distribution systems for over 60,000 customers in 17 Southwestern Ontario communities including Chatham-Kent, St. Thomas and Middlesex County. In addition, Entegrus provides general administrative services, namely in the areas of customer care, billing, collection services, call center and data centre operations.
“The management services contract between the companies will begin immediately and offers the time the Board needs to complete its strategic review and provide a thorough recommendation to the Shareholder,” stated Bondy.
E.L.K. Energy is a Local Distribution Company that services the communities of Belle River, Comber, Cottam, Essex, Harrow and Kingsville in Ontario, Canada. With a peak load of 65 megawatts, E.L.K.
E.L.K. Energy is wholly owned by the Corporation of the Town of Essex and operates much like a private entity under the Ontario Business Corporations Act.
