Lakeshore Splash Pads, Parks, and Marina Open for the Season

Staff Reporter

The opening of splash pads this weekend means all three of the Municipality of Lakeshore’s splashy summer destinations will be open to residents and visitors.

In late April, the Belle River Marina officially opened to boaters. Seasonal park facilities, such as washrooms and sports fields, opened earlier this month although a stretch of rain dampened fields and forced temporary closures.

Starting Saturday, May 20, the splash pads at Lakeview Park and River Ridge Park will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., while the Atlas Tube Recreation Centre splash pad will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“Warm weather means residents and visitors get to enjoy all that Lakeshore has to offer,” said Lakeshore mayor Tracey Bailey. “From cooling off at a splash pad to dipping your toes in beautiful Lake St. Clair, Lakeshore is the place to be to beat the heat!”
