Residents of Lakeshore can expect to see renovations on the Town Hall facility later this year, with services temporarily moving to the Atlas Tube Recreation Centre to maintain uninterrupted access to municipal services.
Following a meeting on Oct. 22, 2024, the Lakeshore Council awarded the renovation contract to Fina Construction Ltd. The transition of Town Hall services to the Atlas Tube Recreation Centre is planned for late November, with construction set to begin in December.
“We are pleased to move forward with this cost-effective investment in improving Lakeshore Town Hall. This facility offers a wide range of frequently used services, from building and planning permits to water and tax billing, and this work will improve how our residents access those services,” said Mayor Tracey Bailey.
“The plan to temporarily move frontline staff to the Atlas Tube Recreation Centre will ensure residents can continue to receive the exceptional customer service they are used to.”
The renovations will focus on expanding and centralizing frontline customer service areas, enhancing accessibility, and adding new facilities, including an accessible washroom, meeting room, and additional workspace for staff.
During the renovations, the Public Service Unit will operate in person at the Atlas Tube Recreation Centre. Residents can also reach the team by phone or email at 519-728-2700 and PublicService@Lakeshore.ca.
