MPP for Windsor-Tecumseh Andrew Dowie has announced the return of the Griswold Awards for a second year. The awards celebrate the community’s most dazzling holiday decorations at homes and businesses.
Inspired by the exuberant holiday spirit of Clark Griswold from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, the awards honour those who go above and beyond to spread festive cheer through their elaborate displays.
“The Griswold awards are a small way we can show appreciation and recognition for the time and effort our neighbours make during the holiday season,” said Dowie.
“Last year, we had a great time visiting the decorated homes of residents, and we are excited to recognize those who contribute to spreading holiday cheer in our community once again.”
All nominees will receive a certificate from Dowie’s office. Additionally, the top 10 entries, selected by the office staff, will be awarded a special “Top 10” certificate, personally presented by Dowie.
The deadline for submissions is Dec. 13.
