The LaSalle Firefighters Association is celebrating the success of its new initiative, LaSalle Gives Back, which raised $66,049.54 to support local non-profits and youth assistance organizations this holiday season.
The campaign, designed to ensure donations stay within the community, directed $60,000 to St. Andrew’s Anglican Church – Community Food Bank and $5,000 to the LaSalle Hangout for Youth. Additional funds were allocated to purchasing newspapers and covering administrative costs.
“It’s overwhelming to see the community’s generosity and support towards these two worthy organizations. We are deeply grateful to those who volunteered their time, and those who made contributions to this new campaign,” said Chris Carr of the LaSalle Firefighters Association. “We hope to continue strengthening our community together and look forward to growing the LaSalle Gives Back fundraiser every year.”
The campaign ran from Nov. 14 to Nov. 16, with LaSalle Firefighters and volunteers distributing newsletters and collecting donations across the town.
Organizers say the funds raised will provide vital year-round support for LaSalle residents who rely on local assistance programs, ensuring that the generosity of the holiday season extends beyond the festive period.
