The Maidstone Bicentennial Museum welcomed car enthusiasts and families alike to its first annual Vintage Invitational Car Show on Sunday, June 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event marked a new tradition for the museum, drawing visitors from across the region to celebrate automotive history and community spirit.

“Admission was free,” said Victoria Beaulieu, curator at the museum. “And attendees were able to vote on your favourite car for the Peoples Choice Awards.”

The show featured a stunning lineup of 25 rare and unique vehicles, each with its own story and legacy. Among the highlights were a 1957 Corvette, a 1928 Whippet, a 1963 Corvette Stingray, a 1965 and 1966 Barracuda, a 1947 Studebaker MJ pickup and a 1975 Bricklin. These classic cars, lovingly maintained by their owners, offered a glimpse into decades of design and engineering excellence.

Guests were treated to live music, a barbecue and a variety of family-friendly activities that added to the festive atmosphere. The museum grounds at 1093 Puce Rd. (County Road 25) provided a picturesque backdrop for the event, with visitors strolling among the vehicles and chatting with owners about restoration stories and vintage details.

“This is our first year and we plan to make it an annual event,” said Beaulieu.

The success of the inaugural show has already sparked excitement for future editions, with many attendees expressing interest in returning next year.
