Get ready for a night of nostalgia, excitement, and community spirit as the Tecumseh-Shoreline Minor Hockey Association marks its 30th anniversary with a can’t-miss event! On Saturday, February 28, the Tecumseh Arena will host a truly special matchup: the current Tecumseh Eagles U18 A Rep team will face off against standout alumni from the 1995-1996 season in a “Past Meets Present” showdown.

The 30th Anniversary Alumni Game is more than just a contest on the ice – it’s a heartfelt celebration of the generations of players, families, volunteers, coaches, and community members who have shaped three remarkable decades of Tecumseh-Shoreline hockey. Fans can look forward to a warm, welcoming atmosphere filled with familiar faces, shared memories, and the unmistakable joy that comes from being part of something bigger than the game itself.

“We have the team of players that were U18’s back in 1995 and the current Tecumseh Eagles U18 A Rep,” said Tony Rosa, president of Tecumseh-Shoreline Minor Hockey Association.

Rosa says there will be family-based activities all day, “we’re looking at a fun-filled day starting with our U9 group ‘Day of Champs,’ playdown games and the alumni game…this is exciting for us!”

The action gets underway at 4:30 p.m., promising thrilling hockey and a powerful sense of community pride. But the festivities don’t stop there. In the evening, the celebration moves to the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 261 for the Coaches Appreciation Banquet Dinner at 7. This special gathering will recognize the dedicated individuals who make every season possible, honouring their commitment and passion for Tecumseh-Shoreline hockey. Rosa adds that there are plans in the works to commemorate those individuals involved over the years with a dedication plaque to be placed at the arena at a future date.

“Thirty years of hockey in Tecumseh demonstrates the passion and dedication of the coaches, players, volunteers, and families who show up season after season. Congratulations to the TSMHA on the anniversary and on the next thirty years ahead,” said Tecumseh mayor Gary McNamara.
