Rainfall warning issued for Essex and Kent Counties

A rainfall warning has been issued for Windsor – Leamington – Essex County and Chatham-Kent – Rondeau Park.

Rain expected today through tonight in the amount of 15 to 25 mm. Saturated ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.

As a result of a southward shift in the track of the low, rainfall amounts will be lower than previously expected. Rain continues into this afternoon, then becomes intermittent by this evening. A few showers will develop Wednesday afternoon, though widespread rain is expected to remain east of the area.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Keep children and pets away from creeks and river-banks.

For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry District office.
